Seven Simple things you can do to help your library:
- Get a library card! Or replace your lost library card!
- Use your library card! Borrow, borrow, borrow!
- Join the Friends group ... NOW!
- Renew your membership NOW!
- Tell your friends to join the Friends group!
- Donate used books to the library anytime.
- Buy books at our Quarterly Book Sales.
- Volunteer for your library! Please call Jennifer Guerin at 826-4310 if you could give a few hours to help the library. A variety of volunteer opportunities is available.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
- Keiki Saturday Reading Time - If anyone is interested in helping with this project, contact: Christena Southwick via email.
- Art On The Walls -Youth art work to be displayed at library. We can always use some volunteers to pick up art from the schools or help with the displaying of youth art. Contact Anne Schneider: 808-826-6720 or via email
- Display Cases - We have a variety of subjects that we focus on in our cases. Susan Dierker is the coordinator of this project. Contact her at 808-826-6922, or via email
- Book Club - Our Book Club activity has been cancelled for the time being, but if you are interested in becoming a Book Club Leader, please leave contact information in the 'Friends' box at the library or send an email to Nadine Schwartz
DONATING ITEMS
Jennifer Relacion, Acting Librarian for the North Shore Library at Princeville sends us this advice and information:
- Books being donated to the library need to be in good clean condition and hardbacks with dust covers included, if possible
- We welcome all DVD's and Audio CD's; No VHS tapes are accepted now.
- If a donation receipt is wanted, please count your items prior to donating them to save time.
- With large quantities, please contact us before you arrive so that Jen can sort through your donation at your vehicle.
The library continues to actively seek individuals or organizations interested in displaying items in our display cases at the library. Please call the library at 826-4310 if you are interested. Display cases shall NOT be used for commercial purposes.
