| Aloha to our North Shore Community and “Friends” beyond,
A new year is off to a great start with new faces and familiar faces in new places. Joanne Smith and Michal Stover are the Co-Presidents for 2010. Ann Williams and Nadine Schwartz, our former Co-Presidents, are still involved in 'Friends' - Ann now holds position on the Board as Corresponding Secretary and Nadine serves on the Projects and Programs Committee. Our goal this year is to continue to provide quality programs for the community and to support the library's mission of service and literacy. In the past we have accomplished this through the much appreciated efforts of our many volunteers and donors. All of us and the community extend a grateful Mahalo! There are numerous opportunities to help at the library even for short periods of time. Did you know that the Princeville Library has one of the highest circulations on Kauai? Only the Lihue branch has more. Because of the volume, Jennifer (our librarian) is always grateful for people to shelve the returned books. If you are interested, we would love to train you to shelve. Then whenever you have an hour or two to spare, you can stop by and go right to work. This is just one of the opportunities to help. You can contact Barbara, Joanne, or Michal to become a part of the support group for our library and community. Watch the website for information on all activities: the book club, a speaker's bureau, art displays, upcoming book sales, and special events.
