How did sugar plantations gain control of so much land?  Why was the monarchy overthrown?  Did native Hawaiians agree to annexation/statehood?  Why did Congress find that Hawaii was "…an unjust oppressive, monopolistic economic system…" after investigating the Massie murder case?  What caused the Hawaiian Renaissance in the 1970s and movements for native Hawaiian sovereignty?  Bill Fernandez presents another well-researched history talk and slide show.  Don't miss it!
