ADULT BOOK CLUB: TRACKS

The Adult Book Club meets on the last Wednesday of every month. Our June read is Tracks by Robyn Davidson. Check out the plot summary below!

“When Robyn Davidson first set out to make her journey across the deserts of Australia, alone but for her dog and four camels, she was called a lunatic, a would-be suicide, and a shameless publicity seeker. But this high-spirited, engrossing book reveals that she is something more: a genuine traveler driven by a love of Australia’s landscape, an empathy for its indigenous people, and a willingness to cast away the trappings of her former identity. Enduring 130-degree heat and fording swollen rivers, fending off poisonous snakes and lecherous Australian men, chasing her camels when they get skittish and nursing them when they are injured, Davidson emerges as a heroine who combines extraordinary courage with exquisite sensitivity. And Tracks is the compelling, candid story of her odyssey of discovery and transformation.”
